Tell Your Representatives to Reject Deeper Medicaid Cuts!
Though we have already spoken out against deep cuts to Medicaid in the Budget Reconciliation proposal, the Senate has passed its reconciliation bill, which has now been sent to the House of Representatives for final consideration and adoption.
Time is of the essence, so please call your House Representative today to let them know you oppose the Senate version of the bill to extend the President’s 2017 Jobs and Tax Cuts Act and urge them to adopt the House version of the bill instead. The House bill would save millions in funding for states to pay for the Medicaid program and help reduce the estimated number of people who will lose their Medicaid coverage.
The President is pressuring members of Congress to pass the 900+ page bill by Independence Day. And, as unpatriotic as it sounds to cut the main source of funding for mental health and addiction services, there is only a slim chance that this bill doesn’t pass.
That is why we need your help now to tell the House to reject the Senate’s deeper cuts to Medicaid and instead keep the House-passed Medicaid provisions.
Thank you for acting now for mental health!
