[WEBINAR] August 29 @ 2:00 p.m. ET, I don’t know how…to talk to my child about food and body image Youth and teens undergo many changes, physically, emotionally, and socially. Their bodies are changing, and they are left comparing themselves to others, feeling societal pressures, often through the lens of perfection on social media. Join Mental Health America and Arizona State University for a session specifically for parents and caregivers. The session will discuss how comparison, social media, and societal pressures impact body image and youth mental health. It will also provide strategies to parents and caregivers on addressing these sensitive topics to best support their children and not perpetuate factors that can lead to an eating disorder and/or body dysmorphia. |

MAMH is elevating behavioral health and wellness for older adults The Massachusetts Association for Mental Health (MAMH) has received a $150,000 grant from the Point32Health Foundation to support its work elevating the importance of behavioral health and wellness for older adults. The grant will support the Massachusetts Older Adult Behavioral Health Network (OABHN), which focuses on behavioral health advocacy, workforce development, and peer support programs. This grant builds on the Foundation's previous support, helping to transform the coalition into a robust network dedicated to improving the behavioral health of older adults across the Commonwealth. |

MHA of San Diego County's "Meeting of the Minds" Conference The "Meeting of the Minds" is an annual behavioral health conference and resource fair hosted by Mental Health America of San Diego County, which focuses on innovative and unique care in mental health treatment and supportive care. The conference promotes collaboration, cooperation, and understanding related to mental health, and the resource fair allows attendees to network with other professionals related to new approaches in care. MHA of Central Carolinas debuts internet talk show, "Strong Place" Mental Health America (MHA) of Central Carolinas plays a pivotal role in providing essential mental health services and programs in the Charlotte area, specifically targeting the needs of residents in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties. The MHA debuted a new internet talk show, "Strong Place," on July 2, 2024, with a new episode dropping every other Tuesday. This regular schedule ensures you can stay updated by joining Executive Director Ayo Johnson as she interviews local advocates, partners, and changemakers. |
